Starting My Journey into UX Design: A New Chapter in My Creative Path
Let the journey begin!
I'm starting a new journey with the Google-certified UX Design course on Coursera. Follow my progress as I dive into user-centered design, research, and prototyping.
🧭 Why I Decided to Learn UX Design
Over the past few months, I've become increasingly interested in how design impacts user behavior and satisfaction. As a front-end developer, I often find myself bridging the gap between design and implementation — but I’ve realized that understanding the “why” behind design decisions is just as important as knowing “how” to build them.
This growing curiosity led me to seriously consider strengthening my skills in UX design, not just for professional growth, but to create more intuitive and meaningful experiences for users.
🎯 Why I Chose the Google UX Design Course on Coursera
After comparing several online programs, I decided to go with the Google UX Design Professional Certificate on Coursera. Here’s why:
- Recognized Certification: Offered by Google, a globally trusted name in tech and design.
- Structured Curriculum: Covers the full UX process — from user research to wireframing and prototyping.
- Beginner-Friendly: No prior UX experience is required, which makes it ideal for developers transitioning into design.
- Flexible Learning: I can study at my own pace, without disrupting my work schedule.
🚀 My Goals and What I Hope to Achieve
Through this course, I hope to:
- Deepen my understanding of user-centered design principles
- Learn how to conduct effective user research and usability testing
- Become confident in using tools like Figma for wireframing and prototyping
- Build a portfolio that reflects my ability to design as well as develop
Ultimately, my goal is to be able to contribute to product design processes more holistically — not just writing code, but helping shape the experience from the ground up.
📚 What’s Next?
As I progress through the course, I intend to document my learning journey by sharing key insights, personal reflections, and examples of the projects I complete. This will not only help me reinforce what I learn, but also allow me to track my evolution and, hopefully, offer valuable perspectives to others considering a similar path. I'm particularly curious to see how UX principles will shape the way I approach development tasks and design challenges in the future.
I believe this journey will not only make me a more versatile professional, but also open up new creative opportunities.
If you're also learning UX or have completed this course, feel free to connect — I'd love to hear your experience.
Thanks for reading. Stay tuned for updates on my UX design journey!
